An Accident...

  After a long day of mental strain, a group of boys were tossing a football around to relax. Then came a long throw, and one young man went for the catch. But as he stretched out for the ball, he stumbled into a table, knocking the table into the large, sliding glass door behind it. The table collided with the door, sending a spiderweb of cracks through it.

  There was silence throughout the room as the awful realization struck. A nervous twitter began among the girls who had been watching. The young man who broke the window stood still in a state of shock. Then he did something amazing. Fully understanding that it would mean working all summer long to earn the money, and even though it could be argued that it wasn't entirely his fault, he volunteered to pay for the window. 

An Aspiration...

     At first, his friends were greatly relieved.  THEY weren't the ones who happened to bump into the table.  They wouldn't have to pay the window! 

   As his friends thought more about it, they began to realize that it was just a terrible accident and that it could've just as easily have been any one of them.  They could follow the example of their friend and take some responsibility as well.  That young man shouldn't have to pay for it all, they could all help.  And this is how they did it.
