Students will prosper best in their study of Latin with a pleasant, interesting program that involves:

Oral-aural study

(that is, study that involves the mouth and ears)

Lots of practice aloud

A rational, ordered study of grammar

Plenty of written practice

Gloria Dei includes all these aspects with a focus on the Vulgate.

The program is complete for the teen or adult sitting at the computer.  However, if you can establish a class for your teen or find one for him to join, it will allow him to use and practice Latin face-to-face with other people.  This, where possible, is an advantage and also a motivation to further study.

Set your teenage student on a course of learning Latin on his own.

Classes are great, but not always easy to organize.  Your individual student can pop the CD in the computer and set off on his own journey into Latin.  Choose your own level of involvement according to the individual needs of your time and your student.  The very independent student can even take and grade his own tests if you see fit.

Everything necessary for you to teach your own children or a class of homeschoolers is included in the program.

It is possible to learn Latin yourself and also prepare to teach it to your child and/or a group by following the program ahead of students.

Follow Gloria Dei yourself to understand in more depth the Latin you present in your House of Order lessons.  Prepare to teach a Gloria Dei group by working in the program a chapter or two ahead of your students.  A fully developed audio file allows you to hear the Latin and to practice exercises orally as often as you wish.

Gather your class once a week, or less frequently if your situation so dictates.

Lesson plans are presented for each class.  Begin your class with oral-aural practice on Latin verses directly from the Vulgate.  Continue with conversations of different kinds.  Review previously studied material by using various activities.  Discuss and explain grammar; practice it with class activities.  Assign practice to be completed on a daily basis during the week.  This practice will consist of games and activities.  Assignments will also include daily spoken and written exercises.

Conclude with a time period set aside for student games. All these activities are detailed in the Teacher file.

If a class group is organized, the family of each student will need its own CD.
