Impromptu
Impromptu speaking is the art of speaking with minimal preparation time. Topics can be chosen randomly, picked from a list, or assigned in any way. Then the speaker will have a certain amount of time to prepare, for example, 2 minutes. When the two minutes have expired, the speaker will have to stand and present the speech for the preassigned amount of time, i.e. five minutes. It can be interesting to allow for no preparation time and see what happens.
Since the speaker will have less time to prepare than to speak, writing a speech word for word is incredibly hard. Unless you are able to write at about three hundred words per minute, it is not suggested. So filling in an outline of ideas that you can talk about for a while is a good idea. The most simple format to use in speaking is:
Introduction (Something interesting, like a story that will engage listeners into your topic)
Thesis (What you are trying to say about the topic and the main points that prove it)
1 (The first point with evidence)
2 (The second point with evidence)
3 (The third point with evidence)
Conclusion (A conclusion, restating your thesis and concluding that you are right)
